Clinical Informationist Program
Clinical informationists work directly with attending faculty, residents, medical students, and pharmacists in university-related hospitals. As “embedded” librarians on hospital rotations, they provide research support in a variety of disciplines (e.g., internal medicine, geriatrics); participate in clinical rounds and patient care discussions; and identify relevant material in the medical literature for use in patient care, education, and research.
Established in 2009, the Library’s Clinical Informationist Program currently serves the Infectious Disease Consult Service, Psychiatry Liaison Consult Service, Internal Medicine Resident Report Conference, Internal Medicine Hospitalist Service, and the Eisenberg (Geriatrics) Service.
