Association for Gerontology in Higher Education
The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE) was established in 1974 to advance gerontology as a field of study in institutions of higher learning. The objectives are to foster research, instructional, and service programs in order to enhance the capacities of institutions of higher education in the field of aging and to help make their resources available to benefit the wider community and society. AGHE is the only national membership organization devoted primarily to gerontological and geriatrics education. Its membership consists of over 300 colleges, universities, and other organizations, which are interested in gerontological education and research and provide aging-related instructional and research programs.
